The construction records of the tenement house are missing from the state land archive. They mysteriously disappeared from the government institution, although the records of neighboring houses still exist. The mysterious disappearance may be related to the fact that the upper part of the staircase in the building was rebuilt; this alteration compromises the separation of the staircase and its fire safety.
Reconstruction of the Records
I reconstructed the drawings from the lost building records myself. In order to study the condition of the house in 1894, in some places it was necessary to remove plaster or wallpaper, examine the quality of the walls, windows and brickwork. After that I measured everything from the inside and began preparing the drawings.
Exterior Measurement of the House
I measured the external dimensions of the building and the plot using a construction laser. I discovered that the corners of the house are not exactly 90°, except for the staircase. I checked the measurements several times using different methods. These angles were already laid out in the foundation from the beginning, and the precision of the builders of that time deserves great respect.
